Vigilance organization produces challan against then Asstt Dir CAPD & others 11/23/2014 12:04:15 AM Early Times Report Udhampur, Nov 22: Vigilance Organization today presented charge sheet (challan) in the Court of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption Udhampur against the accused persons namely Tarsem Raj Padha, Vijay Kumar Singh, the then Asstt Director CA&PD Department, Udhampur and others in case FIR No.19/2010 u/s 5(1)(d) section 5 (2) J&K PC Act and Section 120-B RPC P/S VOJ. Besides the then assistant director, other accused nominated in the case included Ashok Kumar Gupta M/S UdhampurDevika Transport Co, Mohan Lal Manager M/S Udhampur Flour Mill & others who have been booked in case registered against FIR No.19/2010 u/s 5(1)(d) section 5 (2) J&K PC Act and Section 120-B RPC P/S VOJ. According the fact of the case, the Vigilance Organization on the basis of a preliminary enquiry had registered the case against the above mentioned accused persons in P/S Vigilance Organization, Jammu in the year 2010 for conferring undue benefit to the private truck owners by not deducting 10% amount as freight charges as well as charging of excess freight charges for transportation of food grains to food store Pancheri thus causing total loss of Rs 34,16,802/- to the state exchequer. During the course of investigation, the allegations have been prima facie established against the accused persons and accordingly the Challan has been produced against them in the competent court for judicial determination.
