Jammu records season's minimum 4.5 Degree Celsius; fog hits rail, air

Jammu, Dec 18: Fog today hit the rail and air service as the winter capital recorded season's minimum 4.5 Degree Celsius temperature thus throwing the normal life out of gear. Jammu today witnessed season's coldest day with minimum temperature 4.5 Degree Celsius while life in fog hit region remained standstill as people preferred to stay indoors.
Meanwhile, the rail and air services also remained affected due to the fog as the trains departed and arrived few hours later from their scheduled times.
The visit of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to address three public meetings across Jammu district was also cancelled due to poor visibility in view of fog. In all five flights including three of Indigo and two of Go Airways were also scheduled cancelled due to harsh weather conditions, an official said. Jammu today recorded season's minimum 4.5 degree Celsius temperature while the maximum was 10.2 degree Celsius.
Tomorrow the sky will be mainly clear with mist and haze, a Met Section official said adding that the maximum and minimum temperatures tomorrow would be around 18 degree Celsius and 5 degree Celsius respectively.
He further added that in Srinagar the maximum temperature was 11.4 degree Celsius and the minimum was minus 4.2 degree Celsius.
The sky in Srinagar will be clear with mist and haze while the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 12 degree Celsius and minus 4 degree Celsius. In Leh the maximum temperature was 5.8 degree Celsius and the minimum was minus 14.6 degree Celsius. Sky will be clear in Leh tomorrow while the maximum temperature will be 6 Degree Celsius and the minimum will be recorded around minus 13 degree Celsius, said an official.
