Jammu, Dec 18: On the last day of campaigning in Jammu, former chief minister and Congress member Parliament Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that the mission 44 plus of BJP will remain a distant dream and the party cannot cross the double digit figures. He was addressing the media in Jammu.
Due to Model Code of Conduct, it was obligatory to complete the briefing before 4 pm, and Azad started at 3.50 pm and ended his speech at 3.54 pm.
He was at Khour before he and his associate soz was supposed to address the media at 3 pm, but Azad didn't turn up in time and Soz started press conference at 3.25 pm in absence of Azad and around 3.50 pm Azad reached the venue and addressed the media.
Azad in his very short address said that BJP will not form the government in the state at any cost and will not even cross double digit figure. He further said Congress party will emerge as the single largest party in the state and no government can be formed without Congress support.
The Prime Minister and his BJP leaders only try to befool people particularly of Kashmir valley but they overwhelmingly didn't fall prey to his hollow slogans and there were no takers. He also criticized Omar Abdullah for being the worst chief minister of state and accused him of being not mature person.
Earlier, PCC chief, Saif-ud-Din Soz in his address to media person said he favoured weak coalition government instead of imposing Governor rule in case there is a hung assembly. He was answering a question, when asked if no party gets clear majority.
He further said that we are there in the next government as a coalition partner and we will decide to choose between the secular partner and he outrightly rejected any coalition with BJP both at state and national level. He also said there is no permanent divorce with national conference and in democracy, everyone has a right to speak against anyone and added that national conference didn't allow us to bring pragmatic approach towards people like refugees and we fought hard for panchayat election and its 73 amendment.
He was hopeful that Congress will be the largest party in the state and will be a part of next coalition government in the state. On Hafiz Sayeed, he said that Pakistan if wants to fight terrorism, he first should fight Hafiz Sayeed or handover it to India, and also other wanted elements, he added.
