Kishtwar, Jan 15: Chairman, Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU), district Kishtwar, Joginder Bhandari, on Thursday criticized the management of Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL) for making back door appointments in Pakal Dul, Kiro and Kawar hydroelectric projects. He said a large number of youths from outside the State have been appointed through backdoor by CVPPL in Pakal Dul, Kiro and Kawar HE Projects at the cost of local unemployed youths of the district, which has caused a brewing resentment among the deserving educated unemployed youths of the district. Bhandari further said and that the site of these projects are situated in district Kishtwar and the offices of the Chairman and Managing Director of CVPPL are functioning at Jammu and Srinagar causing huge loss to the State exchequer as salaries and other perks of employees and rent of accommodation are being drawn by the officers and officials of CVPPL. He alleged that crores of rupees have been spent upon these projects but no work on ground level has been taken up which needs to be probed by CBI as funds worth crores of rupees have been misappropriated by the officers of CVPPL. |
