Kichloo demands release of MC employees' salaries

kishtwar, Jan 15: Senior National Conference leader and former Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today demanded early release of pending salaries of all the employees working in Municipal Committee Kishtwar. While talking to "Early Times" Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo said that a deputation of MC Kishtwar today called on him at his residence and apprised him about the problems faced by these employees due to non release of salaries pending to them since last more than three months. He said that after meeting with these MC Kishtwar employees, he (Kichloo) took up the matter with Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department who assured him that the problems will be addressed in next three days.Meanwhile, the employees of MC Kishtwar today threaten to go on agitation in case the department fails to release their pending salaries. "We are without salaries since last three months, while in case of casual employees; the wages are pending since last over six months" said Abdul Wahid Sofi, employee at MC Kishtwar. He said that employees of MC Kishtwar were facing lots of problems as compared to employees of other committees of the state. He said that only one installment of 6th pay commission arrears was released in their favour while employees of other committees of the sate get full arrear. He said that 10% arrears sanctioned by the government is still pending, while no new appointments have been made in the department after retirement of several employees; thus over burdening them. He said that MC Kishtwar is facing Rs 30 lakh deficits, added that government even denied 2 & ½ day salary to them and threatens that the association will go on strike in case the government fails to address their demands. He urged up on the Governor N N Vohra to look into the problems faced by the employees of MC Kishtwar and direct the concern authorities to address their genuine and long pending demands.
