Jammu, Jan 15 : JRC Homes Inmates celebrated the festival of Lohri at Udheywala Jammu. A grand function was organized by the management of the Home to rejoice Lohri with customary enthusiasm and gaiety in presence of the donors, representatives of various organizations and prominent citizens of civil society yesterday. The orthopedically challenged and hearing impaired children presented cultural variety show of dance and music. A charismatic dance by Miss Khannu, an 11 year old girl having only one lower limb out of four, was the main attraction of the programme which was appreciated by one and all. The artists of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthaan presented captivating variety programme based on Dogri Kashmir and Bhadarwahi songs and dances to entertain the inmates under the supervision of ML Dogra. The function was presided over by the former Minister Sham Lal Sharma with Kavinder Gupta, Bali Bhagat and Zulfikar Chowdhary, all newly elected MLAs, were as guests of honour. Earlier, C. Kapoor welcomed the audience whereas Joginder Chhatrapal, Secretary of the Home appraised of the activities of the institution which is offering free rehabilitation and lodging boarding facilities to about 60 physically challenged and hearing impaired students of the state. Prominent among those who were present on this occasion included Satya Pal Saraf, Organizer, Viklang Chhatra Trust, Vijay Magotra, MD, BLSKS, Satish Sharma, joint Secretary JRC Home, Rajinder Gupta Chairman Tagore College of Education, Sudesh Verma, Suresh Singh , Anshik Sharma, Swarn Manhas and Subhash Abrol. |
