Jammu, Jan 15 : First of its kind, workshop on "Popularization of Science activities under ST Plan (Project)" for the teachers of mobile schools of J&K began today at SIE, Jammu.
The Workshop is the joint venture of Vigyan Prasar, Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, Noida and National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS), Jammu. The main purpose of the programme is to foster scientific temperament among the teachers & main stress on "Learning by Doing" in discharging effective teaching learning process that ultimately will benefits student communities.
The Workshop will continue till January 21 in two phases comprising of 50 teachers in each phase - first phase w.e.f. to 15th to 18th January 2015 and second phase w.e.f. 18th to 21st January, 18th January being the common day for the both groups for their interaction.
SK Raina, Field advisor, SIE inaugurated the workshop.
In his inaugural address, he lauded the efforts of B.K Tyagi, Scientist - F, Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, Noida and Zaffar Ullah Khan, Founder Secretary General, NCURDS, Jammu for organizing such type of innovative programmes in the interest of teachers and students of J&K. |
