Kathua, Jan 15: MLA Kathua today stringently instructed Motor Vehicle Department to control malpractices at Lakhanpur where some officials loot the transporters on the basis of deficiency of documents but never guided to prepare documents for smooth driving. While addressing to transporters in an impressive function on the eve of 26th Road Safety week in the premises of Truck Union, Govindsar, Kathua, he said department compiled its responsibilities till imposing fine or leave after violators after taking some favour. The week is being celebrated in collaboration with J&K Traffic police. Rajeev Jasrotia, MLA Kathua was also Chief Guest on the occasion where RTO Lakhanpur, Mohd Nazir Sheikh, ARTO Kathua Salim Manhas, Distt Traffic Inspector Nazir Sheikh Dar, were also present on the occasion. Road safety instructions were administrated to drivers and commuters. Experts delivered lectures on traffic rules and signals where drivers were motivated to follow the traffic rules and follow signals for their safety. Nazir Ahmad Dar, Distt Traffic Inspector also spoke on the occasion and laid down stress to avoid pressure horns while driving. He instructed commuters to follow traffic rules, use of safety belts, helmets, signals etc to protect the lives besides to have complete reliable documents including license etc. |
