Water-logged pit at Patta Paloura turns death trap for pedestrians

Jammu, Jan 15: Patta Paloura Market Association has alleged the erratic digging of the road by the PHE department leading to a big pit opposite BSF headquarters Jammu that has turned out to be death trap for the commuters as well as vehicle pliers also.
The market association said that the area was dug to lay sewerage pipe by the ERA that left it unattended as water seeped out of it , the rectification for which was given to PHE .
PHE employees rectified the fault but did not plug the four feet deep hole that is water logged and an open invitation to the pedestrians to fall into it at night hours.
The shopkeepers as well as the residents of the area have appealed to the concerned authorities to take the cognizance of the matter and plug the pit so that any eventuality could be avoided.
