Jammu, Jan 15 : The BJP leadership is likely to hold final meeting with the PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed this month before making final announcement. The central leadership of the BJP has decided for it after holding back channels deliberations with the BJP."Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Mehbooba Mufti will be called to hold meeting with Amit Shah. They could may also hold meeting with PM Modi before the official announcement is made on the alliance," said a senior central BJP leader. The two parties have been holding talks. The BJP is also in favour of an alliance with the PDP as it could give it seats in the Rajya Sabha which it needs badly. The party is taking route of ordinance to pass important legislation as it is short of the numbers in the RS. The PDP has by declining the offer of the NC, which was just a political ploy for some brownie political points, has clearly indicated that the party is clear on having an alliance with the BJP as only these parties can now bring in a stable government going by their numbers. Mufti Sayeed had reportedly told the BJP leadership in clear terms that tenure of the chief minister is non-negotiable and will hold directs one all the modalities are worked out and ironed out. Sources said BJP has also conceded to this demand of PDP. "Mufti enjoyed good equations with Vajpayee and Advani and is one of the few Kashmir based leaders who whole heartedly swears by the Indian Constitution. He is one of the senior politicians of the country so will go to Delhi once Modi or Shah calls him personally. And it has been decided so by the BJP," said a senior leader. |
