KATHUA, Jan 15: A team of Legal Metrology Department Kathua headed by Assistant controller Legal Metrology Kathua, Ajay Verma conducted intensive checking of various business establishments especially Gas Agencies, Dispensing units, Wholesale Dealers, Karayana shops, Bakery Shops, Provisional Stores at Shadedi Chowk, Parliwand, Bus Stand, Hatli Morh Kathua, Pallimorh, Nihalpur, Patyari, Sakta Chack and other adjoining areas.
During inspection as many as 5 traders were booked for violation of various provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act 1997 and Package Commodities Rules. The Department booked one gas agency for violation of various provisions of J&K weights and Measures Enforcement Act 1997 and the case was compounded for Rs 10,000 by the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Kathua. All the traders were directed to use only verified Weights and Measures for business transactions and display MRP, PKD, Net Contents and complete address and Consumer care Number on the Commodities to be sold in packaged form. |
