BJP averse to sending Jitendra to JK | | | Early Times Report jammu, Feb 3: The BJP central leadership is averse to sending back Jitendra Singh to the State. The party's central leadership holds the view that it doesn't want to have one family emerged as the corner stone of the state politics. According to sources, efforts are afoot to send Jitendra Singh back to the state politics as a deputy chief minister of the State. The move was made by a section of the party who believe Jitendra has grown up administratively and has acquired a sort of experience in the governance; he could work closely with the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and also could counter balance him. Although the move has evoked support from various quarters, the party and RSS leadership do not agee with them. "DevenderRana, who controls the NC, is real brother of Jitendra. A message will go that one family is controlling the state politics. And for any wrong committed by the BJP rumours will start that they were manoeuvred with in the family. Even if they are not in good terms with each other, but in politics it is the perception that matters," said a senior leader. There have already been rumours that Jitendra Singh has been given this position on account of his close proximity to the NC senior leadership with the top man in the BJP at Delhi. Another factor which goes against this move is that bringing back Jitendrasingh will mean party will have to hold re-elections both for the MP and MLA seat. Getting party back in the election mode, after not so good show in the Delhi elections, could be against the interest of the party. The party holds the view any reversal even at any of the one seat will make party as week with in just months of the governance. |
