GMCH junior doctors call off strike
2/6/2015 10:44:00 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 6 : Junior doctors called off their two day strike at the Government Medical College Hospital Principal Dr. Ghansham Dev assured them of addressing their security and other concerns. The decision to this affect was taken after a meeting between hospital administration and junior doctors led by Dr Neeraj Sharma, working president of the Junior Resident Doctors Association. Sharma said that doctors will resume their duties within an hour in their respective wards. Over 500 junior doctors of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu (GMC&H) had gone on an indefinite strike after administration failed to take action against the attendant of a patient who had allegedly assaulted a female resident doctor two days ago. The doctors were also resenting against increasing pressure of huge influx of patients and falling doctor-patient ration in the GMCH which was becoming a cause for altercations and violent behaviour of attendants accompanying patients.
