Bhartiya College organizes road safety awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Feb 6: Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur organized an awareness programme on "Road Safety" in collaboration with ARTO Udhampur. During the occasion Er Neeraj Sharma, ARTO Udhampur and Er Sunil Saini Inspector MVD deliberated on the issues related to road safety. Er Sunil Saini presented the comparison of adherence of road safety rules in USA and India by showing various videos. He said that it is necessary for driver to wear seat belts and to avoid using ear buds while driving and obey the traffic rules. ARTO Udhampur Er Neeraj Sharma, in his address laid stress on the importance of observance of traffic rules as the country is seeing lot of everyday traffic accidents wherein we lose our near and dear ones. Maintaining that death toll in case of road accidents is more than that of terror attacks, he said that nearly 7000 accidents happened in Jammu during the last two years in which 7500 people got injured and many lost their lives. He however appreciated the efforts taken by the faculty and management for organizing such awareness programme. In the end the Principal of the host college presented vote of thanks to the special invitees from Motor Vehicle Department for providing the students of the college with rules related to road safety. |
