Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 17:In protest against Chief Minister's announcement of shelving the artificial lake project on River Tawi, the Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today staged a protest demonstration in front of Press Club of Jammu.
Led by Zonal President Jammu JKNPP Neeraj Gupta, a large number of party workers and supporters raised their voice against the discriminatory attitude of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) state coalition government with the people of Jammu region.
Enraged over the statement of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on the feasibility of artificial lake project and open denial on establishing AIIMS in Jammu region, the JKNPP activists while shouting slogans against the present dispensation, said that the state government is playing with the sentiments of Jammu people.
Thereafter in a press conference, JKNPP leader Gupta strongly admonished the meek submission of the BJP leaders in the press conference held on Friday in which the Chief Minister gave clear indications of shifting AIIMS to Kashmir and shelving of artificial lake project.
He said that the artificial lake was much awaited project which was announced to be impossible is almost 85% completed and it is shameful that our Deputy CM Nirmal Singh did not utter even a single word over the statement made by Mufti Sayeed.
Gupta further said that it appears that the BJP is throwing all its pledges to the winds and surrendering on all issues before its coalition partner for the lust of power.
The BJP MLAs and MPs are public servants and they are answerable to the people of the Jammu, he added.
Gupta said that this time the people of Jammu will not allow BJP to play with their sentiments and take them for granted. He also criticized the new recruitment policy which will cause more unemployment and desperation among the youths of state.
