Jammu, May 17: It is glaring example of lack of coordination between ministers of "disciplined" BJP that on the one hand that a Cabinet Minister is working day and night to nab those who are responsible for supplying sub-standard items to the children of anganwari centres while on the other hand another Cabinet Minister of the BJP is pressurizing officers to shield the culprits.
Social Welfare Minister, Bali Bhagat had conducted raids at various anganwari centres across the state and picked up samples of nutrition items because there were reports that substandard items were supplied in these centres by the powerful suppliers who have strong network in the corridors of power.
Raids followed by examination of the picked items by the authorities concerned has established that substandard material were provided to the thousands and thousands of poor children who are studying in these centres. Now authorities have been left with no other option but to registered cases against suppliers because their samples were failed during examination. Supplying substandard items to the small children is a heinous crime and "powerful" suppliers are very much aware that they have to face the music this time.
These influential suppliers have reportedly, credible sources said, had approached one of the BJP cabinet minister and sought his help to save them from law. This cabinet minister has reportedly asked a senior officer to go slow in the investigation. The cabinet minister has reportedly given veiled threats to the officer and warned that any action against suppliers would be proved counter-productive for them.
Credible sources said that some officers have worked very sincerely to unearth this scam worth multi-crores to bring influential suppliers to the books but now one of the BJP minister is trying to shield the culprits. |
