| Amid power crisis, 200 illegal ACs run in GMC hostels | | | Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report jammu, May 30: Amid severe power crisis in the state, around 200 unauthorised air conditioners run in the GMC hostels. Administration of hospital failed to end the anarchy in Under Graduate and Post Graduate Hostels of GMC hospital Jammu exposed the tall claims made by the authorities of hospital. Moreover, more than 200 Air Conditioner have been running at both hostels for last many years. The documents in possession of Early Times revealed that after received complaints regarding mess in hostels, the Principal of GMC hospital Jammu had constituted a four member committee for inspection and verification Under Graduate and Post Graduate Hostels head by then HoD Physiology Dr Sunil Sachdeva vide no Phy/2014/Ps/ 169 dated 10,12, 2014. It also stated that the committee members had found that whole mismanagement and indiscipline had come into existence on the part of the then present manger resulted disorderliness and chaos in the boys hostels. The manager of boys' hostel had given patronage to indiscipline and violators, which were evident from the large numbers of illegal air conditioners had been installed his presence. It further stated that huge damages caused to government property due to unauthorized installation of air-conditioners and parking of bikes inside the corridors. The committee alleged that the then manager had not been diligent in performing the officials duties assigned to him. The committee recommended that ousting of present manager from service, advertising the post of manger hostel, confiscation of air conditioners, imposition of penalty upon students (doctors) who have indulged in power pilferage by unauthorized installation of air conditioners in their rooms and others. "But unfortunately, the administration of the hospital has ignored the all reccommandation made by the advisory committee and failed to take any action on the defaulters till date owing to nexus with higher ups, "Sources stated and adding that due to huge revenue loss to the state government. Sources alleged that which committee constituted by the administration of hospital are just for eye wash and never listen that the administration is take any step against the defaulters which is recommended by the committee. Principal of GMC hospital Jammu, Dr Ghanshyam Dev could not be contacted despite repeated attempts. |
