poonch, Aug 5: Legal Metrology Department Poonch has booked two petrol pumps during surprise raids conducted by an enforcement team here today.
During an extensive checking of the petrol pumps, the enforcement team detected two nozzles of different petrol pumps which were delivering 30ml lesser fuel in every five liters measure of fuel. The team immediately booked the management of the concerned pumps.
Following submission of detailed offence report by the inspectorate office, the Assistant Controller, Kewal Krishan served legal notice to the concerned management.
The Assistant Controller imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 and directed the management of fuel stations to keep a 5-litre verifying container at the station to enable consumers to check the delivery volume.
The Assistant Controller has warned the management of all the pumps to stop such illegal practices forthwith, otherwise the department shall be forced to recommend to the concerned higher authorities to black list such pumps. |
