poonch, Mar 20: Nine Mandi villages, which were cut off from the main town during the 2014 floods, are still without any road connectivity. Sathra bridge, which was washed away during the 2014 floods, is yet to be constructed by the authorities concerned. In the absence of this bridge, people of Baila, Trichal, Marnote, Moharban, Dhara, Fatehpur, Danna Dhakran, Kehnu, Seri Khawaja and Haribudha villages are the worst sufferers. After washing away of the bridge, people of these villages were using Mandi-Fatehpur road to reach their block headquarters at Sathra and the main town, but due to the recent heavy rains, for a week the said road has also been washed away by slides and now the people are this road was also badly damaged, locals said. Locals said though they had approached the executive engineer of PWD, he was yet to take up the work on the washed away bridge and the damaged Mandi-Fatehpur road. Water pipes and electric infrastructure had also suffered damages in the area, they claimed. |
