Early Times Report

KATRA, Mar 20: Despite working efficiently for the welfare of People as well as for the Department, some officials of the CAPD department Reasi, were seen busy minting money rather than doing their duties.
Shifting blame to the whole department, these officials are the miscreants behind the "dirty image" of the department. One similar incident happened at Katra wherein the Store Keeper and the Clerk gave false statements about the rules of the department in order to grab the ration.
Sources in the sharp contrast told Early Times that a storekeeper and the clerk are running a nexus in the heart of Katra town by making some rules in order to make money by either means. Sources added that the clerk in consent with the Store keeper used to deduct some quantity of ration allotted to each ration dealer by making false statements.
Sources said that even the ration to be allotted is provided on estimated basis instead of distributing exact quantity of ration. The storekeeper doesn't use the weighing scale and ration is distributed without weighing.
They said that even after the direction of TSO Katra to distribute ration after exact weight measure, the duo are not willing to give the ration as directed.
Sources added that every month they deduct ration from the dealers but still the ration available within the stores is short.
Some Ration dealers from the outskirt area of Katra said that the duo used to make false statements in order to cover their mischief. They added that the duo used to mislead us by saying, "Every ration dealer is supposed to leave 50 kgs of ration every time they are allotted ration and even you can confirm it from AD CAPD". "Not even this, the duo used to tell us that the departmental store has no weighing machine and the dealers have to carry the weighing balance with them if they needed to get the ration measured", said the dealers.
They added that the storekeeper in this connection is the same who was in limelight last month for allotting ration to the blue eyed without any permit and for which TSO took cognizance.
One more ration dealer when asked about the incident narrated the similar story.
The Assistant Director CAPD Reasi when contacted shared that there is no such guideline to leave some quantity of ration for the storekeeper. He said the ration must be allotted after weighing the gross weight and the weight of the jute bag is not to be included. He shared that the electronic weighing balances are available with all the government stores to get the exact weight measures at the time of distribution.
He said, "if there is any sort of complaint, the dealers as well as the people can contact me so that I will take the cognizance and deal strictly with the erring officers."
