Written test for 4,000 constables held

Jammu, Mar 20: The written test for recruitment of 4,000 constables in Jammu and Kashmir Police was held today across the State.
Nearly, 42,000 candidates appeared in the examination at 75 different examination centres in the State.
Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar inspected various examination centres in Valley and Jammu and took stock of the arrangements put in place for transparent recruitment. He along with senior police officers and board members inspected the centres and enquired from board staff about the various arrangements made for smooth conduct of the examination.
DGP was told that 30 examination centres have been established in Kashmir Province including Leh and Kargil while 45 had been raised in Jammu Division. Besides, CCTV cameras were installed at all the examination centres to make the process more transparent. Videography of all the centres was also made to avoid any misconduct during the examination.
Elaborate security arrangements in and around the centres were also made through various police components.
Rajendra expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Police Recruitment Board in coordination with district police. He said that the recruitment of 4,000 constables which was initiated in 2015 has passed through various methods including outdoor tests and after shortlisting 42,000 candidates are appearing in this examination. He said that the whole process was done in total transparent manner which was quite visible by the enthusiasm and faith of the candidates for the latest facilities adopted by the Board. Besides, State Level Control Room was also established at Armed Headquarters to monitor the examination through the videogrpahy.
