Influential clerk transferred after 15 years | Scams expected to come to fore in coming days | | AB Sharma
Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 10: Prompted by the Early Times news report that an "influential" teacher continues to work as clerk in the education department here for the past around 15 years, the government has finally relived him of the charge. Sources said the transfer would open the lid on multiple scams in the department and it needs to be seen how seriously the government acts on the issue. The "influential" clerk, supposed to be working as headmaster at a school, was earlier not relieved from the office of Zonal Education Officer, Lower Hathal despite his transfer having been ordered multiple times in the past. As per official records, even though the clerk was posted as Head Master at Middle School Thanda Pani, he served main clerk at the office of the ZEO. This was despite the fact that last year one, Mishindri Lal was formally transferred as the clerk for the office of ZEO. Though Lal was posted in the office, he was not being given the charge of clerk. However, finally after the ET news report, the government surprisingly handed over the charge overnight to Mishindri Lal, who confirmed to have taken over, while the "influential man" has been transferred as headmaster at the Thana Mandi school. Officials said the transfer will open a can of worms on widespread\ discrepancies in the department. "Everything will be crystal clear soon," the sources said.
