Jammu, Feb 14: The official vehicle of ACD Poonch has no number plate and proves themaxim `rules are fools'. The lesser mortals are being taken to task for similar lapse in this state, said a concerned citizen. The term of temporary number provided by distributor at time of purchase of the vehicle has expired and the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) seems in no mood to get the registration plate fixed. "Mahindra Bolero, official SUV was purchased on 3rd October 2017, and temporary number expired on 3rd of November 2017, unfortunately, after more than four months of purchase, the SUV could not get registered.
"It shows, how seriously, the Traffic Police and the Transport Department is working in hilly and border district, which has been in limelight for being accident prone area", said an official of ACD office, whishing not be named.
After expiry of the date of temporary registration number, the Motor vehicle department charges late fee for issuance of registration number plate. But the MVD and Traffic Police as well as civil police adopt different yard sticks while dealing with these types of cases. "All the three agencies leave no stone unturned to harass the commoner on one or other pretext while the high profile personalities like ACD or other officer are not bound to follow any rules. |
