Audit & Account Recreation Club organises "Jashan-e-Jammu"

Jammu, Feb 17: A colourful cultural programme was organized today at the Auditorium of the Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu by the Audit & Accounts Recreation Club of Indian Audit & Accounts Department, J&K for promoting the culture of peace, brotherhood and communal harmony. The programme was graced by the presence of Sushil Thakur, Accountant General (Audit), J&K and Shourjo Chatterjee, Accountant General (A&E), J&K.
Sheela M Jog, Principal Director, Regional Training Institute, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The dignitaries were welcomed by the Audit & Accounts Recreation Club, Jammu (IA&AD).
The programme began with lighting of the traditional lamp of enlightenment by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries and a recital of "Sarasvati Vandana" by the staff members. This was followed by welcome address by Dipan Karmakar, Sr. Dy. Accountant General (A&E) and stage performances on the themes of culture, peace and communal harmony presented by the artists of offices of Accountant General, A&E and Audit at Srinagar and Jammu.
Folk dances and recitals of popular Dogri and Kashmiri folk songs by the artists of two offices were greatly applauded by the audience. The Song & Drama Division of the Jammu Unit of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt of India also staged live stage performances to the delight of the audience.
Shourjo Chatterjee, Patron, Audit & Accounts Recreation Club, Jammu and Accountant General, A&E, J&K sang a beautiful Punjabi song to the rich applause of the audience.
Chatterjee congratulated the participants for their wonderful and colourful presentations and appreciated the organizing of cultural programme by the Audit & Accounts Recreation Club, Jammu. The values of culture bind the communities and enriches the social living and it is the need of hour in this state to further peace and communal harmony, he added.
