Man Murdered by wife, her Paramour in Udhampur, accused arrested

UDHAMPUR, Mar 24: Police here has worked out a murder case in three days. On 22nd march one person namely Kewal Kumar S/O Poola Ram R/O village Sarsoo Udhampur lodged a written report at police station Rehmbal stating therein that his Aunty (Bua) Reeta Devi killed her husband and buried his dead body in jungle.
Based on the complaint a case FIR No. 38/2018 U/S 302/RPC was registered and a police team was constituted by SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat to investigate the case. The team led by Kameshwar Puri, Dy. SP Hqrs. Udhampur and assisted by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO PS Rehmbal and IC PP Tikri SI Sanjeet Sharma swung into action and zeroed in on some suspects including the wife of the deceased and few others.
During the course of investigation Police team came to know that the wife of deceased namely Reeta Devi had developed illicit relations with one of his relative namely Darshan Kumar S/o Nank Chand Bhagat R/O Magiote, Udhampur and her husband Captain Singh had come to know about her illicit relationship, which was the main cause behind the murder.
Accordingly Reeta hatched a conspiracy in connivance with her lover and killed Singh at his residence on 18-03-2018 Sunday night by repeatedly hitting him on the head with a lathi and hiding the body inside bathroom for two days. On Tuesday, Darshan and one Layaqat Ali S/O Sardar Ali Bakarwal R/O Kotli plain Udhampur dug a pit near nallah and buried the body of deceased.
The police team arrested all the accused persons and on their disclosure recovered the body from the Nallah where it was exhumed and handed over to legal heirs after postmortem and other codal formalities. Further investigation of the case is going on.
