Early Times Report
Poonch, Mar 23: The families of shelling victims of 2015 in Balakote sector have been running from pillar to post to get their files cleared which are gathering dust in various government offices, source said here today.
Sources said that 7 persons were killed in an incident of cross border shelling in Balakote tehsil of Mendhar Sub-division in July 2015 of which two families of two victims were given benefits under SRO 43 but the files of remaining five families have been biting dust in one office or the other far the unknown reasons. Some prominent people of the area alleged that Govt has different yard sticks for the shelling victims. On the one hand it pays Rs five lakh each person who loses his life to shelling while as 5 families of 2015 shelling have been given only a meager amount of Rs one lakh each family. This is the sheer violence of rules and Govt must provide a Govt job to next to kin of the victim family under SRO 43 instead dumping their files in the government offices said Chairman Balakote Youth Front, Zaheer Khan adding we urge the concerned authorities to provide all benefits to 2015 shelling victim families at per with the victims of Mar 18, 2018 victims of Balakote besides a Govt job to NOK under SRO 43, Khan added
