DGP breaks down at slain cop's house

JAMMU, Mar 24:A kind hearted human being but a tough top cop of J&K police,Director General Dr S P Vaid broke down in tears when he along with senior police officers of Jammu district visited the residence of martyr SGCt Deepak Thusoo at Jagti camp, Nagrota near here today to express their condolences to the bereaved family.
Director General of Police Dr SP Vaid along with IGP Jammu S D Singh Jamwal, IGP Welfare and Telecommunications Manoj Pandit besides other senior district police officers of Jammu today visited the residence of martyr SGCt Deepak Thusoo who attained martyrdom along with other four security personnel while giving a befitting reply to Pakistan sponsored militants during a fierce encounter in dense forests of Halmetpora in district Kupwara on March 21.
While expressing his heartfelt condolences to the family members of the martyr policeman, DGP SP Vaid could not control his emotions and broke down in tears.He said the children of martyr policeman were too innocent and minor that they cannot be consoled at this point of time, informed a family member to ET.
DGP assured that all benefits as per service rules will be made available to bereaved family besides special care will be taken in the education of the children and free health care will be provided to family,he added.
Police officers who accompanied DGPalso extended their condolences and sympathies to the family.
