Nine months on, SIC fails to hold single hearing; appellant alleges missing of file | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 24 : The lethargic attitude of State Information Commission (SIC) towards the redressal of Right To Information (RTI) cases can be gauged from the fact that the SIC failed to hold a single hearing in the appeal filed by an RTI appellant. As per RTI appellant, an appeal was filed with the SIC after the PIO failed to give reply of the RTI filed to seek information from the office of the Block Development Officer (BDO) Akhnoor. "The appeal was filed on 16th June of 2017 by one Sunil Kumar with the SIC", reads the receiving copy of the appeal adding that till date the SIC failed to hold a single appeal. The lethargic attitude of the SIC can be gauged from the fact that he failed to hold a single hearing in this matter. "Today when I reached the office of the commission, officials shoulder by just giving pity reply that the file of the appeal is not traceable", alleged the RTI appellant. He further said that the authorities told him that as soon as the file was traceable they will inform him telephonically. "It seems that the authorities are trying their best to conceal the information that's why they failed to hold a single hearing in this matter", alleged RTI appellant. |
