In overnight encounter, forces kill 2 Jaish militants

Anantnag, Mar 24: Two militants belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM) outfit were killed in an overnight encounter in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
The gunfight between security forces and hiding militants started in Shishtargam village of Dooru Anantnag on Friday evening and continued till Saturday morning.
"Two militants were killed in Dooru. They belonged to the Jaish-e-Mohammad(JeM) outfit and were residents of Pakistan," a police spokesperson said.
He said that as part of a joint operation, Anantnag Police along with 19 RR (Rashtriya Rifles) and CRPF launched a search in Shishtargam area under Police Station Dooru, which resulted in an encounter with terrorists hiding there," the spokesperson added.
The arms and ammunition recovered include AK 47 rifles and grenades were recovered from the encounter site
Official sources said that three other local militants accompanying slain Pakistani militants, however managed to escape from the encounter site.
Bodies of slain militants, whose identity hasn't been ascertained yet, were shifted to unknown location in North Kashmir for burial.
Funeral prayers in absentia were held for two militants who were killed in the encounter. Reports said that scores hundreds of the people offered absentia prayers for the two militants in Dooru.
Following the encounter, the high-speed internet services were also suspended in south Kashmir and clashes were erupted in many parts of the district Anantnag.
Authorities also shifted venue of all the 12th class bi-annual examinations centers to District Institutes of Education Trainings centre Khanabal Islamabad, which was scheduled on March 24, 2018.
Train services were also suspended in South Kashmir as a precautionary measure. Clashes between youth and security forces were also reported from several areas of South Kashmir, however the situation remained under control and no untoward incident was reported throughout the day.
