| Drug peddler held with 40 gram heroin | | |

Jammu, Mar 29: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevni', under the supervision of SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta, Gandhi police today claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 40 gram heroin from his possession. Police spokesman said that today police party from Gandhi Nagar police station established a naka near Fire Brigade Station A/D Block Gandhi Nagar for checking/ frisking of vehicles.
"When the police party was checking/frisking the vehicles one pedestrian coming towards Gandhi Nagar from Panama Chowk on seeing the police party tried to escape in suspicious circumstances but the in-charge Naka assisted by other officials chased and caught hold of him, who during questioning disclosed his name as Mohd Hussain Wani of Batpora, Shopian Kashmir presently staying at Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu and on checking around 40 grams of heroin recovered from his possession. On this a case under FIR No. 73/2018 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and further investigation started. The drug peddler few months back was also arrested in NDPS case registered at Kathua police station.
The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Kali Charon, ASI Shesh Pal under the supervision of SDPO City South Rafiq Manhas, SP City South Sandeep Choudhary. |
