Poonch, Mar 29: State pollution Control Board has taken cognizance of a complaint regarding running of a stone crusher in a thickly populated area in Dehra village in Mendhar Sub division and ordered constitution of team to look into the matter, source said here today .
A complainant namely Ahmed Khan son of Bashir Ahmed of Sakhi Maidan had lodged a complaint against National Stone crusher situated in Dehra with regional Director state Pollution control Board Jammu asking for any inquiry into the violation of norms and running of a stone crusher without any no objection certificate in thickly populated village of Dehra besides increasing the pollution level causing health hazards to locals.
Taking strong note of the complaint Member Secretary SPCB Jammu shot a letter vide No: SPCB1J1 (Complaint) /1090 dated 26-3-2018 asking to inquire into the credentials of the said stone crusher owner the order also read that a team lee constituted and headed by Dr Yashpal Scientist B-head water Lab SPCB Jammu along with Divisional Officers to look into the matter and submit accordingly the report of findings to the board with in a period one one week. The team will also took into the matter of fraudulent allotment of land to the crusher owner in the thickly populated village of Dehra as alleged by the complainant.
