| Ansari gives send-off fencers | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 29: Minister for information and Technology, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports Imran Raza Ansari told that State Players namely Vansh Mahajan in Sabre Event and Tariq Hussain in foil event has been selected from J&K State for Junior World Fencing Championship from 1st to 9th April 2018 at Verona, Italy and wished them good luck and alongwith dignitaries Ranjit Kalra Advisor (Sports) Govt. of Lakshadweep Vice-Chairman, J&K State Sports Council Jammu, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra Secretary J&K State Sports Council and Vijay Sharma Patron J&K Amateur Fencing Association.
The Fencing Association of India has conducted open selection trial for all Indian Fencers on 8th March 2018 at Divisional Sports Complex, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
Vansh has ranked 1st in Sabre event and Tariq Hussain has ranked 2nd in Foil Event.
Vansh Mahajan in Sabre Event has recently clinched SILVER MEDAL in team event in 28th Senior National Fencing Championship held at Solapur, Maharashtra.
He also represented country in Junior World Cup 2017 at Russia, Navy open Fencing Championship 2017 at Bangkok, Singapore Junior Fencing Championship 2017 at Singapore, Thailand Open Fencing Championship 2016 at Thailand and Cadet Junior Common Wealth Fencing Championship 2015 at Capetown, South Africa and won many more medals in School National and National Championships.
The State Govt. has announced Sher-e-Kashmir Sports Award to Vansh Mahajan and has also got S. Rangil Singh Sports Excellency Award from J&K State Olympic Association recently. Tariq Hussain in foil event has also won many Medals in School National and National Championships and first time he has got selected to participate in International Competition to be held at Italy. Tariq has also eyeing for Sher-e-Kashmir Sports Award likewise his Icon Rashid Choudhary. |
