RBI organizes Banking ombudsman awareness programme

Jammu, Mar 29: Reserve Bank of India in collaboration with Rotary Club of Jammu City and All India Institute of Local Self government organized an interactive awareness program on " Office of banking Ombudsman Jammu ( BOS )" also named as Kendriya Lokpal Karyalaya . According to press release, the Reserve Bank of India has introduced Banking Ombudsman Scheme (BOS), 2006 (as amended up to July 01, 2017 ) to facilitate quick, fair (non-discriminatory) and cost free redressal of complaints against Commercial Banks, Scheduled Primary Co-op Banks and Regional Rural Banks on deficiencies in banking Services of any sort . This awareness program's major focus was to highlight the increased thrust on customer protection and financial inclusion. The program was focused on presentations on the Banking Ombudsman Jammu to address common causes of grievances as regards to banking services and awareness/precautions warranted thereabout etc. Galaxy of Leaders from Trade , Chamber , Industries , Welfare Societies along with corporate managers , Senior Citizens , Student Leaders attended this impressive function .
Secretary BOS H.S Verma gave an in depth knowledge to the audience about " How to be vigilant while doing ecommerce transactions and using their ATM Debit or credit cards in daily routines .
