| MGCA Blue overpowers MGCA red to clinch series by 2-1 | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 29: Riding high on the splendid all round performance of its skipper Jayadev Singh, MGCA Team Blue today registered a 2-1 series victory over MGCA Team Red to lift Friendship Cricket Cup 2018 being organized by Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy at Guru Har Krishan School, Nanak Nagar Jammu.
Earlier, trailing by 2-0 in the series, MGCA Red led by skipper Sarfaraz Shah won the toss and opted to bowl first to restrict MGCA Blue on 127 runs by losing 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, and later managed to chase 128 in the penultimate over of their innings with 4 wickets in hand thus finish the series with 2-1. Senior Photo Journalist Mir Imran (Photo Editor - Greater Kashmir Communications, Jammu was the Chief Guest, wherein Yash Khajuria - Staff Correspondent, The Earth News was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. From Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy this three match series was officiated by MGCA Head Coach Ravi Sharma and Coach Sachin Singh. The Chief Guests presented the trophies and medals to winners and runners-up teams.
Jayadev Singh, Captain MGCA Blue who performed brilliantly with ball and bat (145 runs and 8 wickets) was declared as Player of the Series. Later, MGCA Coach Sachin Singh felicitated Sohan Bharti for dedicatedly performing commentary for the series besides managing scoreboard. |
