| Advocate Zaman elected new president of Bar Association, Poonch | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 30: Senior Advocate Zaman has been elected as new president of Bar Association, Poonch.
The election for the posts of office bearers of the Bar Association were held today and the results were declared late in the afternoon. A total of 71 votes were polled out of 75.
According to Advocate Younis Chauhan, former President of the Bar Association Poonch, who acted as Returning Officer, Senior Advocate Zaman secured 37 votes to win the presidential chair. The other contenders for the post including Advocate Mohd Amin and Advocate Nazeer Choudhary secured 24 and 10 votes respectively.
Advocate Ishaq Ahmed khan was declared unopposed for the post of Vice President.
Advocate Sajjad Chauhan was elected as general secretary, he secured 25 votes. His rivals Majeed Khan secured 19, Abrar Shah secured 15 and Advocate Iftikhar Ahmed Bazmi secured 10 votes respectively.
Advocate Alyas Ahmed Khawaja emerged as winner for the post of joint secretary by securing 46 votes against his rival Advocate Samir Malik, who baagged 25 votes.
Advocate Rab Nawaz has been elected as cashier of the Bar Association. He secured 40 votes against his rival Advocate Hanwant Kour, who secured 31 votes. |
