3/30/2018 11:24:37 PM
Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Mar 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Health Care Scheme (JKPHCS), which has been framed to relieve its personnel from the "mental tension" because of medical treatments has not been implemented yet.
The scheme was to be implemented from September 2017 and would be applicable to all its permanent employees.
"It is the much-needed scheme for police personnel. But the government has not shown much interest for its immediate implementation," sources said.
As per the policy draft, the bills would be paid directly to the empanelled hospitals within the state and reimbursement for the empanelled hospitals outside the state. "It will give police officials a sense of security that in the difficult times of life they are not alone but whole police pariwar is at their back," it reads. It says that that to run the scheme "successfully and to grant" the benefits of the scheme to the members an amount of Rs.250 would be deducted as a membership fee from every employee. "Thereafter an amount of Rs. 300, Rs 250, and 100 is to be deducted from the salaries of gazetted officers, non-gazetted officers, and SPOs respectively, so that every member along with his dependents may be insured/secured for a certain amount in the proportion of their deduction. If any member of the scheme voluntarily desires to give the higher subscription can do so, but cannot claim any special facility/treatment," it states. The gazetted officers can get Rs 8 lakh while their dependents would be entitled to get Rs 3 lakh on medical expenses. The non-gazetted officers would be entitled to receive Rs 7 lakh and Rs 2 lakh for dependents on medical expenses. The scheme can bear the expenses of Rs 3 lakh on medical expenses of SPOs and 1 lakh on their dependents.
