BARAMULLA, Mar 30: An old school building was completely gutted in a fire mishap at Salamabad Uri in North Kashmir's Baramulla District on Friday morning.
According to reports, a massive fire broke out around 6:00 am in an old high school building in Salamabad area of Uri triggering panic in the locality.
However, fire tenders were pressed into the service to douse off the flames, but till than fire had damaged much of the property, locals told early times over the phone.
The three-room old school building including office, Laboratory and Computer lab was gutted completely in the fire , while the losses are being assessed, said an official.
Meanwhile, a police official said that cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The locals, however, believe that short circuit may have caused the fire.
It is pertinent to mention here that earlier in the week four residential houses were gutted and 20 animals were charred to death at Lachipura Bijhama.
Few days back 4 residential houses were gutted in a fire incident in Sheri Khass of Baramulla town.

The residential house of Noor u Din Gojree and ancestral house of Maeen Ahmad Kakroo were gutted in fire.
There was no loss of life in the incident, however, property worth of lakhs got damaged in the incident, locals said. |
