Mahila Panthers hold dharna outside Governor’s house

Jammu, Mar 30: Mahila Panthers workers today staged protest demonstration outside Governor's house, seeking immediate arrest of perpetrators of attack on its leader.
According to press release, the protesters alleged that some BJP workers who assaulted Manju Singh General Secretary of JKNPP and her husband on 17th March at Kuh Nalah while they were on their way to their ancestral village.
They raised slogans such as 'Mehbooba tere raaj mein, mahilayon per hamley hote hain', 'BJP ke goondon ko giraftaar karo, giraftaar karo', 'SSP Udhampur murdabad'.
She said that her husband was physically assaulted and threatened by the criminals who severely injured him and tore his shirt with a motive to silence his voice forever which he had been raising for the Jammu's cause. "Even I was not spared. The BJP ruffians pushed me on the ground and dragged me ruthlessly causing injuries to my limbs", lamented Manju Singh.
She further divulged that the attack was contemplated in PWD Dak Bungalow Ramnagar a day earlier with Police having full knowledge of the same acting as an accomplice to please their political masters.
She revealed that Harsh Dev Singh had informed the SSP Udhampur beforehand about the devious plan of the fringe elements who had assured him that nothing of that sort would happen and the concerned SHO had been instructed to take note of the matter.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Pinki Raina, Jogila Sharma, Krishana Devi, Jyoti Devi, Anjali Devi, Priya Devi, Vijay Devi, Jeeto Devi, Neelam Devi, Swarana Devi, Rajni Devi, Reena Singh, Neena Singh.
