| ADSWF to celebrate birthday of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Sahab on 14th April | | | Early Times report
Jammu, Mar 30: All J&K Ambedkar Dalit Samaj Welfare Forum held a meeting of Dalit Samaj where it was decided to celebrate the birthday of Bharat Ratan Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sahab on 14th April, at Guru Ravi Dass Complex with a great enthusiasm.
Prominent Dalit leader exhorted that the birthday of Baba Sahab should be memorable. While addressing the people, Dalit leaders condemned the amendments of SC/ST Atrocities Act by the Supreme Court. They also criticised the Centre Govt. for not coming forward for the Welfare of Dalit Samaj. They requested Central Govt. to come forward for the welfare of SC/ST community by abolishing the newly amendments in the SC/ST Act. It was also decided to support the forthcoming Bharat Bandh call on 2nd April, 2018 against enactment of SC/ST Atrocities Act. The recent move of UP Govt. to add Ramji with the name of Baba B.R. Ambedkar Sahab was also criticised by the Dalit Leaders.
While addressing the gathering Ashok Yogi, Dev Anand Gill & Dev Raj Angral announced that they would approach Social Welfare Department and other Govt. Agency for releasing Scholarship of SC/ST Students on priority which is not being paid for the last more than three years. On the demands of poor Dalit people of the state,. |
