Jammu, Apr 11: Sate Pollution Control Board conducted the Public Hearing on "Shiv Khori Passenger Ropeway Project" at Village Ransoo, District Reasi for Environmental Clearance from MOEF/Govt. of India.
In the light of Environment Protection Act -1986, as per EIAC notification of 14 sept.2016, Public Hearing has been conducted at Shiv Khori Shrine Base Camp, Tourist Reception Centre Ranso to know the views of general Public of the adjoining area about the project, where Additional District Development commissioner Reasi, Ramesh Chander chaired the function and Dr. Yash Paul Sr. Scientist, State Board Analyst represented the Regional Director State Pollution Control Board Jammu. More than 500 Locals of the area including Public representatives, Sarpanches, Naib Sarpanches, Panchs, Numbardars, Senior citizens, Ladies and Local youths of the nearby villages, Ranso, lower Kotla, Upper Kotla, Sangat and adjoining area witnessed the public hearing and raised their views and concerns with regard to this passenger Ropeway Project. At the beginning, Public Hearing was initiated with the welcome address by Divisional officer Reasi Sh. Angrez Singh. Dr. Yash Paul Sr. Scientist representing the Regional Director State Pollution Control Board briefed the gathering about objective of Public Hearing in such type of Major Projects before their commissioning and role of Pollution control Board in the Regard. |
