Srinagar, Apr 11: Special Judge CBI Kashmir YP Kotwal today awarded 3 years imprisonment and fine of Rs 6 lakh to Mohd Sidiq Shosha S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o: New Colony Sopore,Kashmir Cashier cum Clerk, Qamraz Rural Bank branch Reban Sopore.
According to the CBI case, the manager (P) law Qamraz Rural Bank Head Office Sopore made a written complaint to SP CBI ACB Jammu alleging therein that Mohd Sidiq Shosha Cashier cum Clerk, Qamraz Rural Bank branch Reban Sopore (accused herein) had misappropriated huge amount received by him from various account holders of Qamraz Rural Bak branch Reban Sopore, by making entries in their passbooks, without making credit entries in the respective ledgers, scroll books and other bank records.
Special Judge CBI Kashmir YP Kotwal after hearing Kapil Verma PP for CBI whereas Adv Farooq Ahmed Shah for the accused observed that prosecution evidence, documentary as well as oral brought on record, sufficiently proves it beyond any reasonable doubt that accused has misappropriated an amount of Rs. 494548.00 in case file No: 78/CBI, Rs.432180.00 in case file No: 79/CBI and Rs. 641600.00 in case file No: 80/CBI. The accused has failed to produce any such evidence /material on record, which could disprove the entrustment and misappropriation of the aforesaid amount.
Special Judge CBI Kashmir YP Kotwal after hearing both the sides sentenced accused to three years imprisonment on each count and a consolidated fine of Rs. 6.00 lacs.
