Sant Gurbaksh Singh Danna Memorial Hockey Tournament, 4 teams qualify for semi-final

Jammu, Apr 28: In the ongoing hockey tournament played at K. K Hakku Astroturf four teams have qualified for the semi-final to be played tomorrow. In the first quarter final played today New Gurdaspur Hockey Club outclassed GNN Hockey Club with a margin of 3 goals to 1. Second quarter final was won by Khalsa Warriors Amritsar beating Baramullah Hockey Club by three goals to one (3/1). Third quarter final was played between Pathankot XI & BSF Jammu in which Pathankot XI defeated BSF with a margin of five goals to one (5/1). Last encounter between J&K Police and Hira Nagar Hockey Club was played with spectacular stick work & ball control of highest level. Spectators cheerd the players displaying finest skills of hockey. J&K Police won the match by defeating Heera Nagar Hockey Club with a margin of two goals to zero (2/0). Two semi-finals are slated for tomorrow. First semi final shall be played between Pathankot XI and J&K Police at 3.30 PM. Second semi final to be played between Khalsa Warriors Amritsar and New Gurdaspur hockey Club at 5.0 PM. Zorawar Singh (Gen Secretary Press Club Jammu). Ranjeet Kalra (Vice Chairman Sports Council and Swarn Singh ARTO were the Chief Guests of today Marches.
