Samba, May 7: Cricketers of the Samba today staged a protest demonstration against the JKCA for the pick and choose policy to organise and management of the affairs Samba District Cricket Committee.
Leading to the protest Vinod Singh said that cricketers of Samba District met a few days back in the office of the JKCA at Bhatindi Jammu but they have not paid any heed to the demands and request made by the cricketers of Samba. Vinod Singh said that some blue-eyed has been assigned the job by the JKCA for organising the District Cricket tournament in hush manner so that the genuine cricketer of Samba at large may not be able to get the fair trial opportunity in the selection process which is one of the major cause for the backwardness of cricket and other sports in Samba and other districts. As that lakhs of rupees were allocated/provided by the BCCI to JKCA for promoting the cricket infrastructure and game at district level which is just managed in Samba by some blue-eyed persons in clandestine manner.
Vinod Singh also appealed to the High Court Judges appointed as administrators of the J&K Cricket Association i.e. Justice C K Prasad, former judge of the Supreme Court and Justice Syed Rafat Alam, Ex-Chief Justice of MP and Allahabad High Courts, and Ashiq Hussain Bukhari Chief Executive Officer, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association to intervene in the matter and resolve the issue of the District Cricket Committee Samba as there is lot of anger and resentment among the youth of the District Samba for unprofessional management of the District Cricket Committee. The committee of the cricketers belonging to District Samba said that they met the Deputy Commissioner Samba and apprised him about the matter and request for his intervention which had agreed by the worthy Deputy Commissioner Samba. It is pertinent to mention here that Samba District has three Sub Divisions including Samba Gaghwal and Vijaypur, consisting of tehsil Vijaypur, Ghagwal, Samba, Ramgarh, Rajpura and Bari Brahamana which is further subdivided into nine blocks.
The cricketers who were present on the occasion included head of the Clubs of 9 Blocks of District Samba namely Sanjeev Gupta, Prabhat Singh Charak, Anil Sharma, Deepak Singh, Pawan Singh, Anil Singh, Aman Singh Sambyal, Raghubir Singh, Naresh Kumar, Sahil Jasrotia, Pardeep Khajuria, Dhaman Sharma, Uttam Chand, Rimpu Jamwal, Anku Sambyal, and many other budding talented of Samba District. After visiting in every village of District Samba and with the consultation of the every player belonging to his village a committee of cricketers of Samba District constituted and decided that in future while organizing the tournament by the JKCA this committee may be taken into confidence.
