PDP led Govt should learn from UP Govt, allow fair investigation in Kulgam sex scandal

Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 11: The Central Bureau of Investigation has confirmed the rape allegations against Bangarmau BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao rape case.
It has confirmed that Sengar's accomplice Shashi Singh had lured the victim - who was a minor at the time - to Sengar's residence on the pretext of a job last year.
On June 4, 2017, the victim along with Shashi Singh had approached Sengar at his home in Uttar Pradesh's Makhi village, where the incident took place. Singh, who was later held by police, stood guard outside the room as Sengar and his associates proceeded to gang-rape the woman.
Similar incident was reported in Kulgam in south Kashmir in February this year an alleged politico-police nexus.
The teenage girl who was sexploited allegedly by a few police officers and politicians had alleged that many high profile people including politicians and police officers were involved in the scandal.
The victim girl said that she could identify the people who sexually abused her multiple times at a hotel in Jammu.
Narrating her ordeal, she had said, "At first daughter of lady became my friend. One day she took me to her home as she too had stayed at my home earlier. During night, they gave me some pills and an unknown man staying there did whatever he wanted as I felt unconscious. Later I came to know that they have made a video of the whole act."
The girl said that the accused lady used to blackmail her at the pretext that she would upload the video on Facebook. "I travelled to Jammu six times. We stayed in a hotel there. Every time lady and her daughter were accompanying me," victim confessed and said that it wasn't only she who was being transported to Jammu but there were many other girls as well.
She said that one of the molester, who sexually abused her in the hotel, introduced himself as a police officer. "I can recognize him," she added.
Victim revealed that she was told by the accused lady to visit a sitting PDP legislator as well.
"She (accused lady) told me to visited ****** Shab but I refused," she added.
After the allegations came to fore Kulgam Police constituted a Special Investigative Team (SIT) to probe the case. "Case FIR No 27/2018, U/S 363,120B, RPC was registered at police station Kulgam and investigation were taken up.
The investigation into the case is going on at snail's pace and the Police are allegedly trying to hush up the case to save a politician from a ruling party who is reportedly involved in the case.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "If BJP can allow the CBI to carry on with the probe in fair and transparent probe against its leader, why PDP led government is not allowing the Police to carry on with probe in the Kulgam sex scandal case."
He said that PDP led government in Jammu and Kashmir should learn from Uttar Pradesh government and allow the law to take its course.
