Patwaris strike enters day 2 | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, May 15: The ongoing strike of Patwaris in state of Jammu and Kashmir including Kishtwar District today enter 2nd day today as a result of which the work in all the revenue offices including the office of ADC, ACR, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and partially in DC Offices across the state. The angry protestors who are protesting in the premises of Deputy Commissioner Office Kishtwar raise the slogans in favour of various demands added that till the government did not fulfill its demands, the strike will remain continue. Speaking to Early Times, President Patwar Association Kishtwar said that the demands includes delimitation of Patwar halqas added that many Patwar Halqas has the jurisdiction more than that of a Tehsildar. He said that the government always shows step motherly approach towards addressing the problems and issues pertaining to Patwaris and Girdawars. He said that as compared to other departments where DPC were cleared after every six months while in revenue departments, it took years to clear the DPC and said that it took around 20 years to Patwaris to get promotion to next ranks and called for bringing an end to this disparity. He also called for construction of Patwar halqas so that the revenue record could be kept in safe custody. He regretted the problems faced by the people due to ongoing strike added that government is forcing them to choose agitating path. |
