Modi's pledge scrutiny of Bank accounts of BJP leaders proved farce: Harsh
5/15/2018 10:48:43 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15: Reminding PM Modi of his directive in Nov 2016 calling upon the BJP Ministers, MPs and MLAs for submission of their Bank Accounts to Amit Shah as a measure of Accountability and transparency, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today said that people of the country wanted to know as to what action had been initiated in pursuance of the said disclosures made by BJP leaders with regard to their assets.
He said that the people were curious to know whether it was yet another "Chunavi Jumla" or an attempt to divert the attention of the public from burning issues facing the economy. He said that in case there was any seriousness in the PM's directive, the BJP needed to come out with the names of BJP leaders charge-sheeted for dis-proportionate assets or money laundering after such disclosures or atleast a statement that none of the BJP Ministers, MPs or MLAs was found to be in possession of black money or illegal cash.
He further said that it was expected of the PM that he would not only expose and punish such leaders but also direct them to put their banks accounts and property details in public domain as a measure of transparency. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu today.
Describing PM Modi's Nov 2016 directive as an eye wash and window-dressing for the gullible, Singh said that even J&K had several BJP Ministers MPs and MLAs who were accused of real estate scams, disproportionate assets and money laundering with the central and state unit of BJP failing to give any convincing clarification despite public outrage. He said that several BJP Ministers and a BJP MP have been reported to have created huge assets, taken loan from J&K Bank amounting to Rs. 30 Crore and got it declared NPA besides having defied norms and procedures and violated the defence acts while constructing un-authorized structures.
He said that even during demonetization a Minister’s vehicle was widely reported to have been apprehended while carrying huge illegal cash for conversion into new currency notes. "Similarly another Minister's spouse was reported to have been video-graphed while converting dirty cash into gold and still another Minister accused of having taken several crores as bribe for granting permission for construction of private apartments in an environmentally fragile area of Jammu. In the same way, a BJP MLA had been accused of raising two palatial bunglows after elections besides raising huge moveable and immoveable assets which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The same BJP MLA was reported to have duped several un-employed youth in the name of employment. There were further CDs in which the employees had claimed to be looted by the said MLA in the name of transfers. Besides subsidies and incentives meant for poor and BPL families had been withdrawn by the said MLA from Agriculture and Horticulture Deptts. The RTI reply had further revealed that he was in un-authorized possession of 22 Kanals and 15 Marlas of state land." Likewise, he said, several BJP Ministers were accused of promoting transfer industry in the state and for acting through middlemen and touts besides allegations of allotment of works without tenders and back door appointments made in govt deptts. Several other Ministers and MLAs had encroached huge state lands, and Forest lands with adverse reports having been filed even by the investigating agencies against them. He said that such sensational disclosures made about conduct of its Ministers and MLAs had put the BJP in the dock and necessitated a probe into the huge unprecedented scams but not a word was pronounced by the PM despite such appalling revelations.
Gagan Partap Singh State Secretary JKNPP, Parshotam Parihar State Secretary Panthers Trade Union, Shanker Singh Chib State Secretary, K.K Sharma Provincial Secretary, Partap Singh Youth Vice President, Anil Rackwal and Ravinder Jamwal were also present in the press conference.
