| Junior gardener works as clerk in Social Forestry | | | AB Sharma

Rajauri, May 16: A junior gardener is allegedly illegally working as clerk in the Social Forestry department here for the past over a decade.
Sources said the junior gardener had been initially working as a daily-wager for seven years after which his services were regularized as junior gardener or junior maali.
But in violation of norms, he was elevated as the junior assistant and has been working at the post since, at the office Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Rajouri.
Officials said even if the gardener had to be prompted he could be promoted but only as guard. "He couldn't be made a clerk under any circumstances," the official said adding the gardener was enjoying patronage of senior officials in the department.
When contacted, Anil Kumar feigned ignorance on how he was elevated as clerk. "That is not my fault but decision of the higher ups. If they would keep me as guard I would have no issues," Kumar told Early Times.
When contacted the concerned DFO said his seniors should be contacted to comment on the issue.
The concerned have sought a probe into the matter. |
