Early Times Report

Poonch, May 19: In Sub District Hospital Mendhar, a case of cruelty has come to the light. A pregnant lady belonging to a poor family was asked to go to Rajouri or Poonch for delivering a baby.
Mohammad Tariq, husband of the lady, said they arrived at the SD hospital and asked a nurse about the admission formalities. "She refused to admit my wife. Then I approached the doctors, but to no avail," Tariq said.
With the help of some locals, Tariq said, he later approached some media persons who contacted the BMO SDH Mendhar Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed. "Dr Parvaiz told them that he is out of the town and will contact the hospital in charge. After this we approached a gynaecologist. She abused us for approaching the media and locals and said 'go wherever you want, I don't care'. Finally, she said my wife would be treated at 10 pm," Tariq said.
He said, "At 10 pm, when we approached the doctor, she again abused us and asked us to leave." Tariq accused the doctor of playing with the life of his pregnant wife. He requested the Health Minister to look into the matter and take stern action against the doctor.
