GDS goes on indefinite strike, demands implementation of 7th PC

Jammu, May 22: Gramin Dak Sevak under the banner of National Union of Gramin Dak Sevak went on indefinite strike today in support of their demands of implementation of 7the Pay Commission.
They alleged that all are aware that implementation of GDS Committee is inordinate delay due to complete negligence of bureaucrats of the Department of posts. All concerned sections in the Department of posts have taken much more time for preparing note on GDS committee.
They said that they have been resorting to various agitational programmes including indefinite strike for implementing GDS Committee recommendations. A meeting was held between AIGDSU and FNPO on 02-05-2018 in NAPE Gr-C office to form GDS JCA. D. Kishan Rao, Secretary General FNPO, Com. SS Mahadevaiah, General Secretary AIGDSU and Com. B.V. Rao, Asst. General Secretary participated in the meeting. The leaders participated in the meeting proposed to consult other Federations and unions to build broader unity in future. GDS JCA appealed all other GDS unions and Federations in the Department of posts to participate in indefinite strike. Among other who were present on the occasion included Ram Krishan Bhat, Bodh Raj, Keshav Sharma.
