| Carmel Convent school celebrates Biodiversity day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, May 22: Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani celebrated the International Day for Bio Diversity (IDB). The programme was conducted by the Eco Club of the school and started with a prayer service emphasising the relation between Bio Diversity and the human race. Through a PowerPoint presentation the importance and conservation of Bio Diversity and the measures to preserve the natural heritage was shown.
A speech competition on 'Utilisation and Sustainable Management of Resources' for the classes 8th,9th and 10th was held highlighting the importance of Bio Diversity related threats, impact of climate change and conservation needs and efforts at regional, national & international level. The event was made more memorable by a special dance performance. A Mime competition was also conducted for the students of higher secondary classes. The performers staged a skit using actions, characters and emotions to portray the necessity of green cover and the urgent need to protect the planet Earth. The event concluded by the empowering words of our School Principal Sr. Maria Swati a.c inspiring the students to aid in the great cause of the conservation of Bio diversity so that the future generations are not deprived of it. The students pledged to play their part towards protecting the Mother Nature. |
